ABSTRACT
El presente estudio tiene como objetivo mostrar las características clínicas y diagnósticas previas al tratamiento de pacientes con diagnóstico de pubertad precoz admitidos en el Instituto de Salud del Niño durante los años 1982 a 1997. Se recopiló un total de 137 casos admitidos por desarrollo puberal, de los cuales, 80 casos fueron pubertad precoz (56.20 por ciento de casos se debió a pubertad precoz central y 2.19 por ciento a pubertad precoz periférica), 8 casos pubertad temprana. 45 telarquia prematura y 4 formas frustras. La edad al diagnóstico fue de 6,56 más menos 2,46 años y el tiempo de enfermedad de 12,45 más menos 12,07 meses. Se encontró un predominio femenino en razón de 4.5 a 1. Ambos sexos tuvieron mayor proporción de casos idiopáticos mientras que los varones presentaron mayor proporción de lesión orgánica. La edad ósea fue de 8,79 más menos 3,28 años, y los valores de LH post-GnRH fue de 19.89 más menos 17.22. Los datos encontrados son similares a los reportados en la literatura dándose importancia a la detección precoz de esta patología para un manejo temprano y oportuno según la etiología del caso.

Las niñas diagnosticadas de obesidad en edad prepuberal pueden presentar alteraciones en su crecimiento longitudinal. Objetivos: Describir el desarrollo puberal, índice de masa corporal (IMC) y talla final en niñas obesas diagnosticadas en el estadio prepuberal. Métodos: Estudio retrospectivo del crecimiento e IMC de 22 niñas obesas diagnosticadas antes de la pubertad y seguidas desde el diagnóstico de la enfermedad hasta alcanzar la talla final. Se analizan la edad, talla e IMC al momento del diagnóstico, inicio de pubertad, menarquia y cuando se alcanzó la talla final. Resultados: La talla final media alcanzada fue de 159 ± 7 cm. La talla al diagnóstico fue de 129 ± 10 cm. fue normal en relación a la población en referencia, mostrando una reducción significativa al alcanzar la talla final. La duración media de la obesidad desde el diagnóstico de la enfermedad hasta que las niñas alcanzaron su talla final fue de 7.57 ± 1.68 años y la duración media de la pubertad de 1.65 ± 0.64 años. La ganancia puberal total de talla fue de 20 ± 5.6 cm, y el tiempo en que alcanzaron la talla final después del inicio de pubertad fue de 5.6 ± 1.41 años, Conclusiones: Es posible que pacientes obesas presenten una talla final disminuida respecto a su talla al diagnóstico.
Objectives: Girls diagnosed of obesity during the prepubertal stage may present reduced longitudinal growth. Our objective was to describe the pubertal development, body mass index and final height in obese girls diagnosed during the prepubertal period. Methods: We evaluated retrospectively the longitudinal growth and body mass index of 22 obese girls diagnosed before the puberty and followed from the diagnosis of the illness until reaching the final height. They are analyzed the age, height and BMI to the moment of the diagnosis, beginning of puberty, menarche and when the final height. Was reached. Results: The final height attained was 159 ± 7 cm. The height at diagnosis was 129 ± 10 cm. was normal in relation to the population in reference, showing a significant reduction when reaching the final height. The half duration of the obesity from the diagnosis of the illness until the girls reached their final height it was 7.57 ± 1.68 years and the half duration of the puberty was 1.65 ± 0.64 years. The gain total pubertal of height was 20 ± 5.6 cm, and the time in that they reached the final height after the beginning of puberty was 5.6 ± 1.41 years. Conclusions: It is possible that patient obese present a final height diminished regarding their height at diagnosis.
